Many doctors and people try to define this emerging field of medicine by narrowly pinning it to a specific set of medicines or methods, but I’d like to say that Regenerative Medicine is a subset of medicine that focuses on helping our body heal itself. I believe this concept is actually a profound aspect of all Medicine because ultimately, the body must heal itself in order to survive.  So, without regeneration of tissue, medicine would be a failed pursuit altogether.  Yet, there are things that physicians can do now to help speed up this process and even reverse or slow the deterioration of our bodies by time and stress.

Our Approach

Regenerative medicine uses all the tools available to help the body rejuvenate and repair itself. The goal is to keep the body and mind functioning optimally.  Here at Capitis Medical & Aesthetics, we use Mesenchymal Stem Cell Extracellular Vesicles (AKA exosomes), Wharton’s Jelly, Platelet Rich Plasm, Platelet Rich Fibrin, Bio-identical Hormones, supplements, medicine, diet, and proper medical advice on behavior and activity to help guide our patients towards healing injuries, decreasing physical and neurological pain, treating autoimmune processes and neurodegenerative diseases, and helping our patients feel and look their best.  This form of medicine is not a cure for everything and is not a “magic pill” to treat everything.  Like all aspects of medicine, it should be applied carefully and wisely and adjusted to each individual’s needs.

Why Regenerative Medicine

Many times there are diseases that modern medicine just cannot treat well or has limited options and has not been able to provide patients with satisfactory outcomes.  Regenerative Medicine can offer an alternative approach to treat these ailments and has been successful for many patients over the last decade or more for treatments of:

  • Osteoarthritis and Degenerative Joint Disease of the spine
  • Sprains
  • Tendon Injuries
  • Neuropathy (Nerve Pain)
  • Acute and some Chronic Pain
  • COPD
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (recently studied)
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Lupus and other Autoimmune connective tissue diseases
  • IBD (Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis)
  • Macular Degeneration
  • Cardiomyopathies

If you feel like this approach to medicine or your health might be appropriate for you or you merely wish to see if it is even an option for you, please contact us to schedule a consultation.

Please contact Capitis Medical & Aesthetics today if you have any questions.
