Morpheus8
Discover how to like what you see in the mirror and have a new appreciation for your soft skin.
Everything from the texture to the tightness of our skin changes as we grow older. In recent years, we’ve been lucky to see the development of many non-surgical ways to slow or even reverse the signs of aging. Also, new, innovative devices like the Morpheus 8 by InMode continue to impress our staff. We are pleased to share new technologies to help you address your cosmetic concerns.
What Is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a device that is designed to combine microneedling and radio frequency to achieve deep fractional remodeling. As a result, the Morpheus 8 doesn’t just work on the skin’s surface; it also sends energy to the fatty tissue, which is known to cause jowls, bra rolls, and other problems.
What Is Microneedling With Radio Frequency?
Radiofrequency is a type of energy that science has shown to cause collagen to change shape. Microneedling increases the production of collagen, elastin, and new skin cells by making tiny holes in the top layer of the skin (dermis). This energy is safe and works well to make cosmetic changes like reducing scars and skin tightening. The Morpheus 8 combines the two by sending the heat from radiofrequency waves through the microneedles to deeper layers of tissue. Ultimately, micro-needling with radiofrequency affects both the epidermis and the dermis for maximum results.

How Does Morpheus8 Compare To Other Microneedling Treatments?
The Morpheus8 is FDA approved as a Subdermal Adipose Remodeling Device, or SARD. This demonstrates a crucial difference between this device and standard microneedling. During a Morpheus 8 treatment, the provider can adjust the ultra-sharp microneedles to a depth of up to 4 millimeters, more profound than any other microneedling device.
Can Morpheus8 Be Combined With Other Treatments Such As Fractora Or FaceTite?
Morpheus 8 can and is frequently used in conjunction with InMode’s Fractora and FaceTite treatments. This combination is sometimes called EmbraceRF, a treatment for the lower third of the face. When used with either Fractora or FaceTite, the Morpheus 8 part of the treatment improves the final result by sculpting fat tissue to support the shape of a young face.
Is Microneedling With Radiofrequency Painful?
It is important to us that our patients have access to the treatments they want without fear of intolerable discomfort. First, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the skin so radiofrequency microneedling can be done. In about 30 minutes, the cream numbs the nerve endings in the epidermis. This makes the radio frequency feel more like mild heat. It is also much less noticeable or impossible to feel the microneedles moving over the skin.
In addition to numbing superficial tissue with topical analgesics, we also offer patients the opportunity to increase their physical and emotional comfort using ProNox®. This self-delivery system for nitrous oxide gives you control over your treatment. Ask about ProNox® during your consultation for skin tightening with Morpheus 8 or one of our other innovative devices.
Who Is A Candidate For Microneedling With RF?
Many adults are excellent candidates for microneedling with radio frequency. This minimally-invasive technique may be ideal for you if you wish to reduce the appearance of:
- Acne or acne scars
- Poor skin texture
- Sun damage
- Mild sagging or jowls
- Stretch marks
Combining microneedling with radio frequency and other radio frequency treatments like FaceTite or Fractora may be ideal for:
- Bridging the gap. Many people have cosmetic concerns that don’t quite qualify for facelift candidacy. The EmbraceRF protocol provides a perfect in-between; a way to promote younger-looking skin without injectables or surgery.
- Conservative treatment. Patients who are interested in achieving tighter, smoother skin but prefer to do so without surgery and its risks may be ideal candidates for the latest RF treatments.
- Facelift maintenance. Individuals who have undergone facelift surgery generally want to establish good habits to maintain their results. Radio frequency treatments may be an integral aspect of their ongoing care.
Are There Any Side Effects After Treatment With Morpheus8?
Side effects of Morpheus8 may include transient redness and swelling. Some patients may experience temporary bruising. The microneedling aspect of treatment may leave tiny points on the skin that crust and flake off. This should be expected if Morpheus 8 is combined with Fractora. RF energy can cause mild soreness or tenderness, which can be treated with over-the-counter painkillers. During your consultation, our team will discuss any side effects you might have and decide how long your treatment plan will be.
How Many Treatments Are Needed To See Results?
You can get the best results with just one or several treatments over a few weeks. During your consultation, we can get a good idea of how your treatment will turn out by looking at your skin’s texture, tone, and elasticity.
How Soon After Treatment Can I Wear Makeup?
If microneedling and radio frequency with Morpheus8 is performed as a stand-alone treatment, it may be possible to apply makeup as soon as the day after treatment. But if you add different procedures like Fractora, that time could go up by up to a week.
